Welcome to my master bathroom makeover reveal! This room really challenged me from a decor standpoint. When we moved into our home 5 years ago, this room was a huge selling point. I loved the huge shower, the his and hers vanities, and the walk-in closets. It was an awesome space, but it lacked that cozy, spa-like feel that I really wanted in a master bathroom. My challenge was figuring out how to mix the existing brown tile, counters, and cabinets to my light farmhouse style. Oh, did I mention this room was also orange and very traditional? Since I couldnât change the tiles and counters right now, I had to change everything else. Before I reveal how I changed this room, let me introduce you to the before pictures.
Before
The first step was finding something for the wall right when you walk in. That was a challengeâŠ.a big challenge. I was looking for something that was the perfect size and color. It also needed to be cute and functional. I honestly didnât know what I was looking for until I saw it. I stumbled across this perfect little shelf at the flea market, and knew it was exactly what my bathroom wall needed. Jackpot!!
After â Farmhouse Shelf
The next step was finding a light color that would brighten up this bathroom. It was just so dark and depressing. I wanted it to feel like I was walking into a spa. I chose Magnetic Gray by Sherwin Williams. This color is a blue-gray, and I love how much it brightened everything up.
After â Vanities
This is my husbandâs side of the bathroom. Itâs pretty much squeaky clean all the time. I added a few fun signs to the wall and a grey wood mirror to each of the vanities from Home Goods. The next step was finding the perfect farmhouse style lighting. I was looking for something with mason jars but I couldât find anything that I liked. So, I decided to make my own mason jar lights. Yes, I made these. I was pretty proud of myself. They were so much fun to make. Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing at first, but they ended up looking super cute and they actually worked great!! Here is my Mason Jar light tutorial .
This is my side of the bathroom. Unlike my husbandâs side, it pretty much always looks like a bomb went off. For this post, I cleaned it up real nice for you guys.
I added this metal shelf with hooks to hang our towels on. I wanted hooks instead of a traditional towel rack. On top of the shelf I decorated with a white tobacco basket and some bottles with greenery. I love this shelf!
On my side, I added some weathered wood pieces with pegs on them. I thought it would be a fun and cute way to organize and display my jewelry.
So, thatâs it for my master bathroom makeover friends. I hope you like what I did to this space. My hope is that this post will help you see that you can completely change the look of a space with just a little paint and a few fun pieces.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions, and let me know what you think of my makeover. Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by.

I love the color of the walls and all the cute flea market finds, Love that long shelf and the chippy look of it. I also love the vintage wire rack for your towels. I think the other thing that I would have done is paint the cabinets as well.
carissa says
Thank you, Sandi! Iâm so glad you like all of the changes. Painting the cabinets is something I canât decide on. Of course painted cabinets would look better but Iâm not sure about it since there is no going back. That probably will be my next step. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
