Hey hey and happy Eclipse Day!! Itâs good to be back. I have been away from my blog for a few weeks getting in all kinds of snuggles. I had my sweet little boy 4 weeks ago, and Iâm finally figuring out how to juggle having three kids while trying to keep a clean house, paint furniture, work at my booths, and do a little blogging. Whew! It is exhausting, but I wouldnât change this craziness for anything in the world! Itâs the best! In todayâs post Iâm going to share how we stay organized with my favorite piece in my home.
I have lots of favorite pieces in my home, but for real this time. Itâs my favorite for two reasons. My cubbies are messy most days, but we would all be lost without this piece. I usually clean them out at the beginning of a new season. My excuse this time was back to school! It had to be done. I cleaned out what felt like about 100 pairs of shoes from the bottom baskets. Like I said, it had to be done to get ready for the school year!
When we moved into our home a few years ago, we had this hallway in between our garage and kitchen. I knew exactly what needed to go on this wall. After searching thoroughly at a few antique stores and flea markets and came up short. I did find a cubby with three lockers and it was like $800. UMM, NO! I needed four cubbies, and I was not going to pay that. So, I shared this with my husbandâs grandfather and he volunteered to make it for us. It seriously was the best news because I knew we needed this piece but more importantly, I knew we would have a special piece for our home from a man that my family adores. We will have this piece forever! He whipped it up in a few days and that was that. Amazing!
I painted it with Annie Sloanâs Old White. Then, I and added some hooks from Hobby Lobby and baskets from Michaelâs. We use the top baskets for scarves, hats, and gloves for winter. We use the hooks for backpacks, purses, and coats and the bottom of the cubbies for homework, books, lunch boxes, and water bottles. Last, we use the bottom baskets for shoes and more shoes. I sometimes wonder what we would do without this piece. I guess be totally unorganized and messy. Guys, everyone needs something like this or a version of this. It keeps my family sane! Who am I kidding? It mostly keeps me sane.
I hope I helped show you how we stay organized during the school year. Like I said, itâs my favorite!! Go find yourself a builder or DIY it and get organized! I promise, it will change your life! HahaâŠbut for real, it will keep your family organized, and itâs just so pretty to look at.
As always, thank you so very much for visiting. It means so much to me and your comments seriously make my day! Iâm happy to answer any questions you might have over this piece. Have an amazing Monday, friends!!
