Thereâs something magical about decorating for Christmas every year. The twinkle of the lights, the scent of fresh pine (or the memories of it if youâre using an artificial tree), and the feeling of tradition woven into every detail. This year, I decided to add a few new touches to our holiday decor: bright red, green, and tan ribbons cascading down my decor, poinsettia-patterned stockings that instantly reminded me of my childhood, and a touch of elegance with shimmering gold accents. Oh, and lots of twinkle and candle lights. These small and subtle new additions were exactly what I was feeling this year when I added my nostalgia Christmas home decor.
The Entryway: A Warm Welcome Home
This little entryway table is the first thing you see as you enter our home. I love decorating this spot. This year, I found a beautiful print at Kirkland’s that I knew would became my entryway focal point.
To add a vintage look and give it that nostalgia touch, I added a vintage gold frame that I got at the flea market a few years back. Love how much it added to the print!
To finish off the entryway focal point, I added some garland and ribbon to the top and candles to the table. It is very simple but I just love how this little space turned out!
The next spot that turned out magical is a space that is behind our sofa but connects the entryway and living room. I found these bells this year and knew this was the perfect spot for them. They honestly look even prettier in person. I love how you can see them from the living room as well. They look old and give this space such an elegant look.
The real show stopper is this gorgeous lighted garland that I got from Seasonal LLC (#sponsored). It is truly magical! It’s called the Dandan Pine 9 ft Garland. I used 2 strands and hung it up using a shower rod. This garland would be perfect on a staircase, mantle, front door, or and table. It truly is stunning!
The Living Room: Where the Magic Happens
My living room was so much fun to decorate this year thanks to my new green couches that I got a few months ago. With the new pop of green, I knew I had to do a nostalgia red and green look that I haven’t done in a while. I decided to go with burgundy, green, cream, and brown as my main colors in this space.
As soon as I found these stockings at Target this year, I knew that would tie all my colors together. I especial fell in love with the vintage poinsettia print on them. They also look like something that would have been at my grandma’s house which is why I had to have them.
I added some gold candles and velvet ribbon which added something extra. Next, I layered garland cascading down one side with some of my favorite bells that I have collected over the years.
This wood rocking horse is something that I use every year and is one of my favorite pieces. Overall, I love how this look came together!
The Kitchen: The Heart of the Holidays
My kitchen decor is a little more simple. I usually go with a black and white theme in here with touches of green. One of my favorite additions that I add in here every year are these little houses. They remind me of gingerbread houses, so I think that is why I love them so much!
I recently added this black and white diamond rug and just love how it pulled the space together!
I kept my kitchen shelves simple with more houses and some greenery. I also added more ribbon to my canisters. Such a fun little space to decorate!
I hope you enjoyed my Christmas home tour! Cheers to a season filled with love, laughter, and nostalgia. May your homeâlike mineâbe a place where the past and present come together to create something magical. Merry Christmas!!
