My media room/office got a modern makeover, and I canât wait to share with you how it turned out! This room serves mainly as my husbandâs office during the day, but at night, we love to watch movies and play games in here. Itâs also serves as my kidâs hangout room, especially when they have friends over. Itâs a great space to spend time together as a family, but I knew we needed to make a few changes in order to make this room more functional. The old media room was nice, but the sofa wasnât large enough to allow everyone to relax and enjoy being together. The goal for the new space was to add a larger sectional for extra seating, a more functional media cabinet for storage, add some color, and overall. give it a more modern look. I teamed up with Joybird on this makeover because they have the most beautiful selection of modern furniture and accessories. Before I share with you how it turned out, let me show you my media room design plan!

Media Room Reveal
This room finally feels right! The first step was to find a sectional that was large enough for our family. As you can see, we had plenty of room to add a bigger sectional. Joybird had the most beautiful sofas and sectionals to choose from. In the end, I went with the Anton Sectional in Caspiar Ivory. It is a lot deeper and softer than our other sectional, and we absolutely love it! They also had the most beautiful fabrics to choose from. Believe me, it was hard to figure out which fabric to go with because they were all so pretty! We went with the color Caspiar Ivory. This color is so beautiful and exactly what I was wanting.
The clean lines on this sofa give this room that modern touch I was going for. And just look at that large chaise! Itâs perfect for a cozy movie night!
I paired the new sectional with the matching Anton Chair that we absolutely love! The shape and design are everything!
I also changed up my side tables and coffee table and went a more modern look. It was also nice to bring in some darker wood tones for a little warmth and contrast. I also brought in a bit of color with these pretty green ceramic lamps and tufted ottoman from the Studio McGee line at Target.
Another space that just wasnât functional was our old media cabinet. It was large, bulky, and lacked storage. I fell in love with the Florence Sideboard as soon as I spotted it. It has the most beautiful pale mango wood along with a jute and cane combo on the front. It has a modern and natural organic look that I was going for.
I also love that it has 4 large sections for games and electronics.
Modern artwork was the final piece to pull the room together. Joybird has so many beautiful pieces of art to choose from. I added the Traver Wall Art behind my chair. Let me just say this artwork is stunning and makes a statement as soon as you walk into the room.
I had fun playing around with my built-in shelves and adding some old and new treasures.
One item I love to add to my shelf decor is artwork. I paired the smaller Bolla Artwork with the hanging Traver Wall Art and love how it looks styled on my shelf.
Love the wood frame and simple design of both art pieces!
Rug Details
To finish off the room, I brought in some color using this gorgeous rug. This rug is from Boutique Rugs and itâs called the Marlene Damask Beige & Green Area Rug by Becki Owens. The faded design along with the pops of color made this the perfect rug for my modern media room makeover.
The rug has emerald, seafoam, light green, light beige, and light brown in it so it pulls all the colors in the room together. Itâs so soft and such a lovely rug! Love how it looks in this space!
