Happy Tuesday!! I hope you all are having a great start to your week! I have so many projects going on around here, and this cubby refresh was high on the list of to-do’s this summer. School is out, and that means it’s time for all of the jackets, backpacks, papers, and lunch boxes to get out of here. This area gets used DAILY, so it’s super important that I stay on top of this space. Don’t be fooled by the refresh. This area is usually always scattered and messy. But I do try to be intentional about cleaning them out and giving them a good refresh at the beginning of each season.
Besides the obvious cleaning out, I also wanted to spice up my baskets a bit. I bought some metal numbers from Hobby Lobby, and thought they would be a super cute addition to my baskets at the top of my cubbies. I also thought it would be a fun way to break up the double rows of baskets.
Numbered Basket DIY
First, I spray painted the numbers black to match my hooks (also from Hobby Lobby).
Then, I tied them on my baskets with some burlap twine, and that was it. So easy and I love how the numbers pop against my baskets!
Top of Cubby Decor
For the top of the cubbies, I added this vintage black fan that I picked up at the Country Living Fair. I think a vintage fan is pretty fitting for a summer vignette. I also added some books and greenery to my favorite crocks.
The centerpiece is an old bed frame chalkboard that I bought a couple years back. I love this piece and verse so much, so I’m so glad it fit perfectly in the center of this space,
These cubbies really are our family’s life saver when it comes to organization. They are an organized mess most of the time, so it’s always good to take everything out of them and start from scratch. So, that’s my short and sweet summer cubby refresh, and it feels so good that it’s all cleaned out and ready for summer. I really hope you like all of my changes, and as always, thanks for stopping by!
