It’s my favorite time of year and every fall I always look forward to decorating my mantel for fall. It is the heart of my living room and the focal point of my downstairs living area, so I always center my fall decor around the mantel. That’s why I am so excited to be teaming up with JOANN this fall season to decorate my fireplace and get my mantel ready for fall. This year, my inspiration was neutrals mixed with natural wood tones. Luckily, JOANN had the most beautiful collection of seasonal home decor that worked perfectly for my space!
 Fall Inspiration at JOANN
When I decorate for a new season, I always look for a piece that is going to inspire my entire space. I wasn’t sure what my inspiration was was going to be this year, but I was hoping I would know it when I saw it. I was immediately impressed with the seasonal home selection at JOANN. They had such a wide variety of fall decor that would offer something beautiful to every style. As I was skimming the aisle, I quickly spotted some beautiful wood candle sticks and knew they were going to be my inspiration. I loved the colors and shape of them. The rich wood tones were exactly what I was looking for to bring my entire fall vision to reality. As I continued to shop, I saw other wood tones and neutral pieces that was going to pull my look together!
I quickly snatched up five of these beauties and some white candles for each side of my mantel. These candle sticks are heavy and so well made. They were actually very affordable too, but the best part for me is that I will be able to use them year round. They will look beautiful with my ever changing decor. I also love that they will look great anywhere in my home from my mantel, to a holiday tables cape, to an entryway table. So excited to have these as part of my home decor collection!
Although I wanted my mantel to be pretty neutral, I do love a fun pop of pattern. I was so excited when I found these grey and white plaid pumpkins. This pattern is my favorite! If you don’t believe me, here it is my master bedroom . See, I’m totally smitten with this pattern. Thank you JOANN for helping me mix in my favorite pattern into my fall decor!
A few more items that I spotted on my shopping trip that I knew was going to help me finish off my look was this beautiful velvet HOME pillow. The color and quality was exactly what I was looking for. I also picked up a few faux pumpkins and some wheat to fill up my wood crate that I have on the hearth of my fireplace. Then, I layered my pillows along with a few extra pumpkins that I had to give this space some texture. I also love the rich tones in the wheat!
JOANN also has the most amazing selection of faux stems. Besides the wheat stalk, I also found these beautiful stems that I incorporated into my centerpiece. I also spotted the prettiest fall pumpkin picks that inspired me to make this DIY wood slice wreath. You can check a full tutorial by Joann’s Handmade With Joann page I have to say, this wreath was so easy to make and I love how it brought my entire fall look together!
I finished off my fireplace decor with a few vintage pieces like old books, this chippy window, and these milk crates that I love so much! My favorite way to decorate is mixing the old with the new to create a well balanced look.
And just like that, JOANN helped me bring my fall vision to life. I had so much fun creating this look, and I even made my very first wreath which I’m pretty proud of. Don’t forget to download the JOANN app for DIY tutorials including my wreath. Â Thank you so much for stopping by the blog!

Thank you so much, Michelle. I actually got this mantel at Pottery Barn. I wrote a blog post all about it a few pages back. The color of my mantel reminds me of an espresso brown.
